I want to briefly touch base on the multidimensional capacities of the human being in direct relationship to our ability to affect the past as well as the future. But first, a slight divergence. . .

Divergence
I just finished a wonderful conversation. It amazes me sometimes how during conversation you’ll be explaining something to someone that has resided in your head for quite sometime but maybe never had the opportunity to articulate itself, and when you do spew it out during the conversation you find yourself pretty amazed by the language you chose to express it and the true insight behind the idea/understanding.

When the idea is in your head it exists in a rich symbolic form very different from words and written/vocal language, and then wen you articulate it into vocal/written language you get to see/experience how your preconscious mind chose to assemble it with words and then understand the meaning based on your current associations with those words. . . Pretty common sense, but the dynamic is fascinating on some level as well.

Here is what I’m trying to say: We all know that our actions/thoughts affect and guide our path through the present into the future. What we think about less is the constant ‘magical’ ability we also have to change the past. The past is not set in stone and you prove it to yourself everyday.

A habit, or opinion, or religious belief, et cetera, is a value-complex you placed on certain things or ideas in the past. When you perform that opinion/habit you are recalling the past and agreeing with the value you placed on it then and reinforcing it in the present. BUT; when you change your mind about something, you are changing the value of something that happened in the past. Really think about that.

“Yeah well, that doesn’t change what happened.” – And that person is sort of correct in the physical sense but the true nature of the event is described by the physical occurrence AND the ‘meaning’ or ‘value’ that you placed on that occurrence. I feel it is important to recognize the power and implications of that ability. You have the power to change the past in a fairly similar way that you have the power to change the future. But, similar restrictions are placed on the way you change your future, just like the past, but that can also and IS changed by the values that you place on the past! By changing the past you are changing the future!

Chances are that was a very confusing passage for some, and a very lucid one to others. Sometimes it can be EXTREMELY difficult to change your mind about something, even when you are faced with, what would seem like, incontrovertible evidence in the contrary of your belief. For instance, when you present an idea to someone, and they get VERY defensive about the idea, then chances are that person is not ready to break through that energy barrier created in the past. It is not a bad thing, nor a good thing, simply a threshold/pathway chosen by that person. They will cross that bride wen they are ready to, and chances are they will remember who showed them where that bridge was and will come back to you for guidance.

This was very much an impromptu post inspired by a conversation that touched based on MUCH more than what I’ve discussed here, but i never wanted to forget it, so I’m writing it here for her and for us. The barrier that i broke through that led to this closing statement has been a very valuable one for me in my understanding of the past. Not just my past, but our past.

No let me ask you: Who/what is taught as the symbol of light?

p.s. I do not adhere to any one religion but am fascinated and enriched by all of them.
